SMP Manchester – What Is Scalp Micropigmentation?
Scalp micropigmentation is becoming an increasingly popular treatment among men. Even women who are losing their hair look into this treatment. Even if you are simply becoming sparse in certain areas, this treatment can help to give a fuller appearance.
Small dots or lines are created and applied to areas that need it most. The method used depends on whatever appears to be the most natural method for the client. The treatment can then give the look of fuller hair, or a shaven look.
How The Treatment Works
Many people mistakenly think that this treatment is a tattoo, but this isn’t the case. It carries the same basis as permanent makeup, although different products are used to create the effects. Using a non toxic pigment, the treatment is applied straight to the scalp to mimic short hair strokes. Tiny pigment deposits are placed in the upper dermis of the scalp. Each one of these deposits will look like a shaven hair follicle.
When you put lots of these deposits together, you’ll get the look of a shaved head of hair. It’s important you work with an experienced technician when it comes to a treatment like this. Make sure you take your time researching and reading reviews. Never go for a treatment based on price alone. This isn’t something you want to try to save money on.
Who Is The Treatment Suitable For?
This treatment can be used in conjunction with many different cases for hair loss. This includes Alopecia and male pattern baldness. You can also have this treatment for aesthetic reasons, such as sparse hair due to burns or scars. You can even have this treatment if you have already had a hair transplant, beard transplant or eyebrow transplant.
As a hair transplant can only work with hair you have previously had; it cannot give you more hair density. Scalp micropigmentation can give you the look of more hair density by having your deposits between hair follicles. This means you appear to have a fuller head of hair than ever before.
Getting a Diagnosis
You need to make sure you get an accurate diagnosis for your hair loss before you go through with the treatment. This is to make sure that this is a suitable treatment for you. You want to make sure the results are permanent and look great, so this part is crucial.
Creating A Hair Loss Treatment Plan
Once you have an accurate diagnosis for your hair loss, you can have a consultation. Each case will be approached with the client’s unique circumstances in mind. Every client is different, has different reasons for hair loss and, therefore, different needs. A hair loss treatment plan will then be created to get the desired results for the client.
You should have the treatment and all of the risks explained to you, so you know exactly what you’re getting yourself into. A consultation is free, and you shouldn’t feel pressured to have anything done that you don’t feel comfortable with. Providing you follow the aftercare advice given to you, you’ll have great looking permanent results!
Although yet to have the procedure, I've been very happy with the process so far. Kevin has been very informative and been available to answer all of my questions. Even after the initial consultation, I've been able to message Kevin and receive answers very quickly. As a result I feel very comfortable and confident ahead of my procedure. Definitely looking forward to it and will update in a few weeks after it has been complete!

Following an introduction from another recent happy customer of Kevin & the teams. I have been delighted with the level of service throughout these initial phases of my Hair Transplant surgery. Kevin has been very attentive and answered all my questions, regardless of the time of day and has been happy to jump on calls if needs be. I am booked in for the end of March, so will update following the surgery, but so far i would have no hesitation of recommending the company and in particular Kevin!
